Naturopathic medicine
Many of our noninvasive aesthetic treatments here at Prescott Medical Aesthetics have roots in naturopathic medicine.
We are striving for a more balanced and proactive approach in helping our patients achieve optimum health and wellness. To achieve this, we are now offering general naturopathic medicine in our services.
Our goals are to heal the root causes of an illness and to promote the natural self-healing process of the mind, body, and spirit.
Naturopathy: The Philosophy
People striving for optimum health and well-being prefer holistic wellness approaches like naturopathy (naturopathic medicine).
Naturopathic medicine is a healthcare system that combines modern science with traditional and natural forms of medical diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention.
Naturopathic doctors use natural methods such as nutrition, lifestyle counseling, and botanical medicine to diagnose, treat the whole person (mind, body, spirit), and promote overall wellness.
Aside from traditional medicines prescribed by a primary care doctor, most of us also prefer minimally-invasive cosmetic treatments to combat skin imperfections and encourage a more youthful appearance.
Conditions we treat through naturopathy
Our in-house naturopathic doctors (NDs) provide primary health care services to individuals and families with the following acute and chronic conditions:
Autoimmune & Chronic Illness
Many people suffer from chronic illnesses that can be effectively treated with natural therapies.
Symptoms vary, but the common signs are:
● excessive fatigue
● low endurance
● fluctuation in energy
● aches and pains
● digestive problems
Hormone Imbalance and Mental Instability
Regulating and managing hormones properly improve sleep quality and mood. Your focus and energy will increase too!
Symptoms of hormonal imbalance are:
● irritability
● depression and anxiety
● low libido
● loss of hair
● changes in the menstrual cycle
● loss of muscle mass
Structural & Neurological Conditions
The structure governs function, while the nervous system serves as the body’s communication system.
Structural and neurological treatments help improve memory and cognitive function and prevent or treat degenerative disease.
Symptoms can include:
● musculoskeletal aches and pains
● loss of joint range of motion
● poor balance
● memory
● cognition

What We Do
We use the following approaches to provide the greatest possible benefit for our patients with minimal potentials for damage:
Botanical Medicine
Plant-based medicine has been proven safe and effective in treating a wide array of conditions.
Treatments usually use single herbs or are infused with other ingredients to make products such as teas, tinctures, lotions, creams, salves, poultices, compresses, oxymels, and more.
Homeopathy
Homeopathy was developed using the principle of “like cures like.”
A substance is diluted to use as a treatment for certain diseases or illnesses. A crude dose will cause an otherwise healthy individual to exhibit the presenting symptoms. This approach nudges the body to recognize the imbalance and self-heal.
Nutrition & Lifestyle
Nutrition and supplementation as treatments can enhance the physiological and biochemical mechanisms that regulate our health.
When managed properly, this safe and gentle approach to health, together with lifestyle modification, can prevent and treat illness, and increase longevity without side effects.
Physical Medicine & Procedures
Physical medicines such as spinal, structural, and visceral manipulation boost healthy alignment and organ function.
Physical Medicines and Procedures
● Craniosacral therapy to correct alignment and rhythm of cranial bones and promote the optimum flow of the cerebrospinal fluid in the nervous system.
● Intravenous and injection therapy using specific formulated high-dose nutrients to treat various conditions.
● Physiotherapy methods (ultrasound, low-level laser therapy, and neuromuscular electrical stimulation) to improve healing of tissue and relieve pain.
● Regenerative Joint Injections can treat joint and chronic pain as well as muscle injuries
Our Naturopathic Medicine Principles
Our practice of naturopathic medicine is guided by these core principles:
First, Do No Harm
We utilize the most natural, least invasive yet effective therapies. We make conscious efforts to avoid adverse side effects and suppression of symptoms.
Identify And Treat The Causes
We believe that cause identification and symptom management are equally important to combat diseases.
Healing Power of Nature
We trust and believe in the body’s self-healing abilities.
To promote this ability, we’ll remove potential health obstacles and determine the right treatment.
Doctor As Teacher
As doctors, our primary role is to educate, empower, and motivate our patients to assume responsibility for their health. This way, they’ll realize the importance of a healthy attitude, diet, and lifestyle.
Treat the Whole Person
As naturopathic physicians, we view the body as a whole, physically, psychologically, and spiritually.
Symptoms define the patients, not the disease. It’s more important for us naturopathic doctors to know which kind of patient has a certain illness, rather than what sort of sickness a patient has.
Disease Prevention
Our naturopathic doctors focus on the overall health, wellness, and disease prevention of our patients. It is always easier to prevent something than treat it.
